Read this if you have a severe allergy

If you have an anaphylactic or life-threatening allergy — to peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, milk, eggs, soy, wheat, or anything else — you should never rely on HealthLens alone to decide whether a product is safe.

Always:

• Read the physical label on the product with your own eyes
• Check for “may contain” and cross-contamination warnings
• Verify with the manufacturer if the product is not clearly labeled
• Keep your prescribed emergency medication (e.g. epinephrine auto-injector) with you

How HealthLens works — and its limits

HealthLens uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to identify products from photos and cross-reference their ingredients with the health profile you provide. The AI:

• Can identify the wrong product or wrong variant of a product
• Can miss ingredients that are present
• May use outdated ingredient lists if a manufacturer reformulates
• Cannot detect cross-contamination in shared-facility manufacturing
• Cannot account for your unique physiology or reaction history
• May produce inaccurate or incomplete results

This app is NOT appropriate for

• Diagnosing or treating any medical condition
• Emergency medical decisions
• Replacing advice from your doctor, allergist, dietitian, or pharmacist
• Checking medication interactions (always ask a pharmacist)
• Determining whether something is safe during pregnancy (ask your OB/GYN)
• Making decisions about infant or child nutrition (consult your pediatrician)

HealthLens and its operators, developers, and affiliates are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any allergic reactions, adverse health outcomes, misidentifications, inaccurate ratings, or any other damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from the use of this application.

You use HealthLens entirely at your own risk. By using this application, you agree to hold harmless HealthLens, its developers, operators, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, or losses.
